Lucky Patchers, the free mobile app that allows you to manage your favourite music files with just your phone, has been downloaded nearly 1.5 million times in its 14-month existence.
As well as saving your favourite tracks, it also offers a feature called ‘Lucky Patcher’ which allows you take advantage of an extra 50 per cent of the money you earn on Spotify to pay for premium music services.
“When I first started it, I had no idea how many people actually use the app,” said Lucky Patchiser.
Since then, it has been used by over 4 million people around the world, and it has become one of the most downloaded free apps in the history of Spotify.
Lucky patchers is also a paid-for product, and users have been able to pay to have access to premium features like Spotify Premium, which provides additional data and a better user experience.
One of the perks of this new paid model is that you get a better product, Lucky Patches is the latest example of how a business can evolve by taking advantage of the new free-to-play model.
I think the future is here.
We are in a place now where people can enjoy the fruits of their hard work and have a really solid financial future.
I think that’s really exciting.
With its $15 monthly subscription fee, LuckyPatcher offers a total of $4,300 in annual subscription fees.
In terms of total revenue, the company’s annual revenue is $11,700.
While it’s hard to say exactly how many of these paid-up users have paid for the extra features, it is safe to say that most do.
The company is also now accepting bitcoin donations to pay its staff salaries.
Despite all of the features Lucky Patchery offers, it does have one limitation: it only works with Spotify Premium.
Spotify Premium has many of the same features as Spotify Premium (such as unlimited downloads and high-quality playback) but it also allows you download your music for free and pay a monthly fee for access to Premium features like Premium Radio.
But for the time being, LuckyPatcher has a way of ensuring that users continue to have the extra benefits of Spotify Premium without having to fork out a monthly subscription.
Lucky Patching is available for free from Google Play, iTunes and Windows Phone.
